let it fall with the ashes yesterday's finally begun now we're climbing down the mountain riding high like the bullets from a smoking gun so what if nothing happened we were out there having fun a momentary satisfaction we were young and way too dumb baby i know these things change feels like i'm running from the police like i stole $20 from your mama's purse now we're hiding in the shadows waiting for the doctor to bring a cure if you still love me tomorrow when all the money's gone then you'll still love me tomorrow when everything's gone wrong baby I know these things change such a lovely conversation but i wish we never met

One In The Garden one foot in the door the other's in my past one hand in the air the other's still on the glass one eye on the door the other's on the floor i just don't I can live this way anymore at the end of the world on the top of a mountain wearing a sleepy stare like you knew something good was gonna happen if i'm not there with you just know it was because you know i just couldn't live this way anymore if we stick one foot in the grave and one in the garden maybe one day all our hearts will align with all the things that made them soften we've got one foot in the grave and one in the light found a star that shines i know that it ain't mine. cos all you stars you come and go all the goddamn time with one wish for my head one for my heart one for the door they all say we shouldn't live this way anymore if we stick one foot in the grave and one in the garden maybe one day all our hearts will align with all the things that made them soften we've got one foot in the grave and one in the light one foot in the door the other's in my past one hand in the air the other's still on the glass one eye on the door the other's on the floor i just don't I can live this way anymore if we stick one foot in the grave and one in the garden maybe one day all our hearts will align with all the things that made them soften we've got one foot in the grave and one in the light

With Them Comes Hell she only wanted to give her heart she only wanted to give her heart but now she's given up all her time cleaning him up off the front yard she only wanted to show him joy she only wanted to show him joy but he's such a mess such a miserable boy with him comes the void i'll tell you once i'll tell you time again lovers beware a drunk musician they've got a heart they've got a story to tell but with them comes hell she's 26 but she feels 85 he's 29 but he feels 95 just dying, trying to keep their love alive dying to survive she only wanted to show him love she only wanted to show him love but now it's murder she's dreaming of sweet death from above i'll tell you once i'll tell you time again lovers beware a drunk musician they've got a heart they've got a story to tell but with them comes hell.

Here Comes The Cadillac martha rolled out in an AVON cadillac in a pepto bismol-colored suit she spent her days slinging to her friends and acquaintances she made her living in a living room she made a killing in a living room to an audience of bitter little hens how they were clucking and flapping their wings burping like tupperware nursing a vein denied all the wisdom heir to aging how the ugly duckling was on her knees suckling the exhaust pipe of an AVON cadillac martha rolled out in a great big pink cadillac with her smokes in a custom metallic case she could never stand those housewife sticks slender and slim like a filter could pour out the perfect vision of a man the idea held on longer than any real man could stand how the apple was picked then glued back to the branch who knows when the worms decide on coming back? here it comes ladies don't you fear the calvary the AVON cadillac here it comes it hears you rattle and it hears you him don't you fear the AVON cadillac how the apple was picked then glued back to the branch who knows when the worms decide on coming back? how the ugly duckling was on her knees suckling the exhaust pipe of an AVON cadillac

When I Get Back i'm going down to where my love don't mean a thing cos we're all pining for something to speak of when i get back i might be a little worse but will you still love me? i'm falling fast like a bird that's lost its feathers that's been pining for a note to deliver when i get back i might not say a word but will you still love me? i'm facing down like a drunkard in a river that's been fighting for all he can't remember when i get back i can't promise i'll be sober but will you will you still love me? i'm going down in a suit made for the winter it was tailor made for a sinner when i get back i might be in a hearse but will you still love me? but will you still love me?

about

The EP, A Lovely Conversation, and the forthcoming self-titled album were both recorded in stages over the course of 12 months at Fluff and Gravy Studios. The EP itself features the first single from the album (to be released in February 2017) along with 6 b-sides. Co-produced with John Shepski, the tried and true acoustic instrumentation that are the heart and soul of The Harmed Brothers remain, but they now form a bed for textures and layers that represent a turning point for the band. Nowhere is this more evident than the unshakeable single, “A Lovely Conversation”, with it’s layers of electric guitars, synths and keyboards. The EP also includes fresh arrangements for a trio of songs that first appeared on 2010’s All The Lies You Want To Hear (now out of print). Strings now soar in “When I Get Back” which features The Calamity Cubes as guest vocalists, horns swell in “Here Comes The Cadillac” and chimey electric guitars give new life to “One In The Garden”. It’s a hint of things to come for a band that began in 2009 as a guitar and banjo duo.
